I passed my dissertation proposal w/ minor revisions! My committee had some questions and feedback about my research proposal after the presentation. And, it was decided that one of the research questions (Q3) needed to have the scope reduced.

Last Black Friday I nabbed some Logitech Pro X Wireless headphones from BestBuy. Which turned out to be a terrible deal since BestBuy wanted like ~$120 and Amazon had the same ones for $89 with free shipping. CamelCamelCamel shows that the price has typically hovered around what I bought them for too… so, not really much of a sale.
I recently finished my mock research proposal for one of my classes this semester, Computer and Cyber Science Research Design and Implementation (CSC-807-DT1). The goal of this assignment was to familiarize ourselves with the research process, and proposals, and to solidify any ideas for our dissertations; which, is ultimately the goal of the program. Despite this experience, I am no more or less of a writing fan than I was before.

For awhile I’ve been running a valheim server for my friends and I using a docker container. This doesn’t really work well though if you plan on adding mods to the server outside of just BepInEx and ValheimPlus. So, I tried making the shift to an Ubuntu desktop server instead.

When I had a Mac Mini there was a really nice piece of software I used called, “Rocket”. The way it worked was that you could type “::” and it would prompt an emoji selection window. You could type “::eyes” + ENTER and it would then insert the “👀” emoji where your cursor is. There isn’t really any 1:to:1 option on Linux.
Sometimes you need to use Tailscale, but all traffic for the network you’re on needs to passthrough a proxy. There is some conflicting information about this on the wiki and issues pages for Tailscale on Github. See this issue #931.
I’ve been having this issue with Debian/Ubuntu based distros lately. This is probably specific to my flavor, Debain 12 KDE, but it is worth sharing. If you have unreadable font, like grey font on a white background, it’s because the application you are running does not adhere to the system theme settings.
This site used to be a static page that displayed my resume, along with some current works. It still does that, see ‘About’, but I want to be more public and engage with people.
